Urban Talks are a series of public discussions with national and international guests, addressing topics that we pursue in Urban Insights Center or were suggested by the community. Conferences focus on urban policy issues in Romania. We try to explore the causes, connections and reflect on similar experiences. The audience is encouraged to come up with ideas, strategies and solutions.
2016 Urban Talks were about urban festivals, social innovation, local development and urban regeneration in the community, metropolitan governance and circular economy. We hosted speakers from the London School of Economics, Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, Metabolic, reSITE, Jazz in the Park, ARC, Planwerk Federation of Romanian Metropolitan Areas and Ministry of Finance.
In 2017 we started Urban Talks series available as audio-video materials that are centered on topics related to cities and urbanization. The materials are designed as a package comprising 10 -15 minutes summaries of topics or case studies and examples of good practice. Our goal is to present condensed analysis of specific problems and to identify proposals for their solution.
